In August, the Brokers of Expertise Team will be delivering a series of free, one-hour webinars. Make sure you register for one of our webinars and learn more about Brokers of Expertise!

This month, we are also pleased to report that the California Department of Education has selected Brokers of Expertise as the collaboration platform for its Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Task Force. Join us in the BOE community to share your vision for STEM education in California schools!

Several new collections have been added to the site, including resources from the California Career Resource Network (CalCRN), which provides resources for anyone interested in developing the career self-management skills necessary in today's world of work. Check them out!

Make sure you register for one of our BOE webinars to learn more about Brokers of Expertise. In these webinars, you will learn how to connect with the BOE community, set up your profile, find standards-matched digital resources, and search through online professional development. You will also learn how to use Brokers of Expertise to network with your school site, work groups, and project teams. Registration is FREE. There are four one-hour sessions you can choose from:

STEM Task Force now collaborating and accepting recommendations on Brokers of Expertise

To advance the State of California's effort to provide all students with a world class education, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson and Assembly member Susan Bonilla convened the STEM Task Force to explore the status of STEM education in curriculum, instructional practices, professional learning for teachers, student testing, existing resources and infrastructure, and community and business partnerships.

The STEM Task Force members will assess the state's future needs, as well as recommend a blueprint on how to improve teaching, learning, and equal access to STEM-related courses and careers for K-12 students. The resultant blueprint will include career technical education, and newly developed national Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.
