Audience:
These sessions are intended for educators who are interested in becoming Verizon Thinkfinity Field Trainers.


Due to the fast-paced nature of this session, educators are encouraged to have a high comfort level with using the Internet.

Specific audiences may include technology integration specialists, staff developers, teacher leaders, and

pre-service faculty and students.

Session Description:
A portion of this session provides an overview of the Verizon Thinkfinity program and instruction on locating and integrating Verizon Thinkfinity’s online educational resources to support student learning. The training curriculum for end-user sessions will be defined and attendees will compare various training scenarios for end-user sessions. Attendees will also receive access to free training resources through Verizon Thinkfinity’s Trainer Toolbox, as well as Verizon Thinkfinity’s database management system to track and review training data.

After completion of this workshop, attendees will be qualified to deliver Verizon Thinkfinity end-user training sessions and Awareness Sessions.

Objectives:
After completing this hands-on session educators will be able to:


- Train others to:

o Provide an overview of the Verizon Thinkfinity program, including professional development and rollout, to education colleagues

o Locate free educational resources including interactive student tools, high quality lessons, and panel-reviewed Web sites

o Differentiate between types of online resources available through Verizon Thinkfinity and recognize their flexibility for use to support student learning, regardless of individual technical skills and technology availability

o Think critically about strategies for using various Verizon Thinkfinity resources to increase student learning

o Create a customized integration plan to engage learners and maximize student achievement, using Verizon Thinkfinity’s Integration Framework

- Differentiate between different types of Verizon Thinkfinity training for end users, and customize training sessions for various audiences


- Navigate to a variety of training resources through the Trainer Toolbox


- Complete the four-step process necessary for all Verizon Thinkfinity training sessions, using Verizon Thinkfinity’s powerful professional development management system

By attending this Train the Trainer session, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion (6 hours of professional development)

Responsibilities:

Please note that this session is intended for educators who are interested in training others to locate and integrate Thinkfinity resources. Field Trainer candidates will commit to training other teachers at least in their own districts.

Field trainers are expected to deliver at least one official Verizon Thinkfinity training before the end of the year. This could be a training to train other teachers at their own school or district.
