Calaxy Assets: Getting Started

Asset Group  A new Calaxy Assets group can be created at:
http://www.k12hsn.org/calaxy/assets/
 
To do so, click the 'Add Asset Group' link.
You will be asked to enter the following information:

 Asset Group ID.

Note: Your Group ID should contain letters and/or number but no special character and no space.

arrow Asset Group Password
arrow Asset Group Name
arrow Asset Group Description


Once the asset group is created, you can update it by clicking the pen icon:
Edit Asset Group

One of the first steps to get started is to define your inventory status list, categories, locations, list of custodians, etc...

To add a custom field, status, category, custodian, department, location, manufacturer or vendor, simply click on the relevant tab and "Add"

arrow Items:
Here is where you will add your items to your asset list.

arrow Custom Fields:

You can create custom fields that are unique to your use of the tool. There are 3 different types of fields you can create, text, drop-down list or a date. You can have as many custom fields as you like.


arrow Status:

Here you can define different status for your assets. A status may be something like surplus, or discarded.

arrow Categories:

Categories can be created to assign your assets to specific categories. This may be used for purchase information such as Title V or may be a category for First Grade.

arrow Custodians:

A custodian is someone who is responsible for the asset, you can define your custodians here.


arrow Departments:
You can define departments that assets are assigned to.

arrow Locations:
Define where your assets are located. Once you create a location, you will be able to add a Building. Once you add a building you can create a Room.

arrow Manufacturers:
Here is where you define who the manufacturers are. The manufacturer names will appear in a drop-down list when adding/editing an item.

arrow Vendors:
This is where you define who you purchased your assets from. You can also define the contacts for each vendor.
