New to Moodle?
This section will help you find all the information you need to get started with Moodle.

There are a variety of ways to get help with Moodle if you need it.
All of the links provided in this page will take you to the Moodle Support webpages.

The Teacher Documentation in Moodle is a great place to start.
It is an excellent resource for new users.

The "Getting Started for Teachers" page will give you a general overview of all the features of a course.
There are lots of internal links that will allow you to expand your knowledge.

Here is a list of useful links:

 - Getting started for teachers
 - How to edit a course

What is the advantage of creating my course in Calaxy Moodle over simply using Moodle itself, since both are free?

My understanding is that if you use Moodle itself, you must install it on a server that supports both PHP and has a database (like SQL). That's why I was interested in using Calaxy Moodle, because it's free and will host the moodle installation. There are other services, like MoodleRoom, that will host the Moodle site, but charge $250/year for one teacher with up to 150 students and 5 courses. Hope this helps.

I have a question. I applied for a moodle course and it was approved, but I did not change the name of the school from Vallejo City United School District to Vallejo Middle School (part of VCUSD). Now, when people try to access the course, if they click on the sub-group of Vallejo Middle School, it's not listed, only previous courses (which are no longer active, but I don't know how to delete them) are included. People have to look under Vallejo City Unified School District, in order to see the course (English - Cirino - 2010/11). How can I modify this course so that users can view it on both the Vallejo Middle School and Vallejo City Unifed School District pages (Solano County)?

Thank you.
