Addressing Your Questions and Concerns
Friday, March 12th, 2010
Librarians,
I know that you have many many questions about the new Destiny upgrade as well as several concerns. We are all here to help you transition as easily and stress free as possible. That being said, there have been several emails going back and forth and this has become quite confusing. Sometimes the question is answered and then someone else will email one of us the same question. So, to hopefully alleviate this,
I am asking you to please post your questions and comments via the Blog. I am going to add a few posts right now so that you have an idea as to where we are going from here and what training and implementation will look like. We really need your cooperation on this. By commenting on the posts here, we are keeping all of our Destiny questions and concerns in ONE place and this makes it much easier for me, Mike, Shannon, Jim, Scott and Andre. We have too many emails in our inboxes to keep track of all of the issues, it's impossible to try and figure out what who said about what and who answered, etc.
This is a much cleaner, orgainzed approach to getting you the answers you need, while keeping all of us at Follett and the District Office on track. The result will be that there will be a lot less confusion.
I hope this helps.

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 @ 11:17 AMI have several books where I have changed the tag information. For example all of my Dr. Seuss books have been changed to Seu. I also have some series with different authors that I have changed to the first three letters of the series name such as FIC AME for American Girls. I also have my easy reader non-fiction books separate from my other non-fiction, so they are listed as E 636.2 MUR. Will all of my tags switch over to the correct info.? If so, I will have to manually change all of these books back.

Friday, March 19th, 2010 @ 8:43 AMBefore the extraction this afternoon, would we have do anything with the staff accounts? The staff currently do not use their district ID numbers for borrowing library materials. We've been using 3 digit ID numbers that we've assigned to them. Just wondering if this would create any problems.

#2 I must be doing something wrong while trying to download Follette remote. I get as far as the "to download" but my screen is not what our process shows. It does not automatically download and I can not maually do it. I have "allowed" the download. Can someone email me?
Thank you. tmartin@simi.k12.ca.us
