Of course you already know how to add positive numbers. In later math, you'll need to work a lot with negative numbers. This lesson shows you how. Many students feel uncomfortable with negative numbers. They can sometimes be hard to relate to. How can you have negative 3 apples? Just think of negative as opposite. If you have -3 apples, instead of having them, you owe them. Don't worry too much about finding real world analogies to every single arithmetic problem that you encounter.
