K20Video

K20video.org is a web-based scheduling system designed specifically for the needs of the California K12 High Speed Network’s (K12HSN) conferencing project. The K12HSN has implemented videoconferencing services for use by California’s K-12 community and higher education institutions.

Currently the K12HSN has deployed Multipoint Control Units (MCU) and recording devices to facilitate videoconferencing. An MCU is a device which permits multiple sites to participate in the same videoconference. The recording device is a complementary component which will digitally record the conference.

K20video schedules conferences on the K12HSN MCUs and facilitates the recording of them.

To begin utilizing K20video, the first step is to open an account on the K12HSN website, www.k12hsn.org. You can create an account by visiting the website and filling out an online form. Since the K12HSN and the services offered are strictly for the use of California’s K-12 community and higher education institutions in California, account requests are validated prior to being activated.

Once your account has been activated you can begin utilizing K20video to schedule, conduct and record your videoconferences.
