Choosing Well: Technology in Curriculum

Applying Technology to the Classroom (ATC)

So this is what rolling with the punches actually looks like: Thank God for K12HSN's edZone!

I guess I've got edZone on the brain.  It was the first presentation I asked the good folks at CTAP6 to do for us here in Tuolumne County.  It is the subject I decided to present, myself, at CTAP6's Educational Technology Conference 2009.  It is also the vehicle I am using to fulfill our requirement to do a curriculum project according to the CTAP RFA.

Someone once said that when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail.  I could be accused of using edZone as a hammer.  But, I think, in this case, it is really the other way around.  I've been looking at a lot of nails and thinking I needed a different tool for each one of them.  Coming to the conclusion that edZone was the right choice for our curriculum project took a while.  But it's a good fit.

EdZone will enable us to allow interested teachers to choose which skill set they want to adopt for classroom use.  It will enable us to show how blogging (for example) can positively affect student performance, and how that blog can be intergrated into a classroom experience that includes providing access to images, video, podcasts, and text files.

Thanks K12HSN!
Daniel
