Assistive Technology (AT) Certification

Is anything going on in your neck of the woods with regard to Assistive Technology (AT) Certification? By this we mean any type of piece of paper that "legitimizes" your background in AT and the ability to assess students with AT needs or offer support services to educators. Currently the State of California has no credentialing or certifying guidelines or processes. A small group of us in western San Bernardino County (southern California) have a 3-day series of AT Cadre workshops that we provide to educators locally to give them some basic information regarding AT. We would like to expand that to provide educators with an extensive training in assessing and supporting AT in the classroom. Thanks for any input you might have.

I asked a local guru and he referred me to this link for a certification program at Cal State Northridge
