This is a close up of the map and some map pieces used in the "giving and listening to directions" activity described in a previous photo. Students move the pieces around on the map and ask where they are. Alternatively, one student partner can state a location of an object on the map and the other partner must then place that object in the correct location according to the directions given. A variation of this activity is to give travel directions from one location on the map to another location. In this activity, the pieces are already placed on the map so there are beginning and ending locations for several trips.
