CaliforniaStreaming Digital Photography Contest Guidelines
The submission deadline is Sunday, February 8, 2009.

Thank you for your interest in the 2009 CaliforniaStreaming Digital Photography Contest. Please read the guidelines for this contest and the process for submitting student photographs.

This contest invites all K–12 California teachers to submit student photographs that fit with the 2009 theme, LIFE!, which ties to California Science Standards across many grade levels. Winning photographs will be used in a collectable CaliforniaStreaming art poster and many submitted photographs will be integrated into CaliforniaStreaming’s common database to be shared with other California students. Six students with winning photographs will each receive a 16GB iPod nano and two teacher winners will each receive a 16GB iPod touch!

To assist students in their photography quests, LIFE is defined differently for different purposes. Since life is a ubiquitous and fundamental concept, the definitions of it are legion. Be guided by your imagination!

It is suggested that teachers follow the process below:

  • Become familiar with the information that is required when submitting photographs, including a brief written description from the student photographer. Please review the required information necessary from the list of items on the Submissions webpage. Incomplete applications may be disqualified from the contest.
  • Retain a release authorizing necessary permission for the entry and for possible reuse for the poster and in CaliforniaStreaming to share with other California students.
  • To submit photographs for this contest, teachers will need to create an account or login to the K-12 High Speed Network, our online host for this contest.
